And that was my first thought also. Everyone complains about ActiveX in IE being the root of all evil. Ok, exaggeration. But it certainly has been one of the main attack vectors for IE. Now all the other browsers that to this point have been a secure alternative to IE are looking to emulate this "feature"?!?! Many of the posts here applaud the idea and seem to think because of the players involved it'll be secure. But if the nature of the extension is to allow others to install/execute software on your system, we'll see how long it takes for the black hats to start exploiting this.

Time will tell.
