Great news!
MS created a security nightmare with ActiveX and now its time to do it right. There are proven ways to sandbox these enhanced capabilities so that they perform their intended function without compromising security.

People assume that since MS couldn't pull it off, no one else can either. But I remember a few years back complaining about blue screens and assorted other issues with Windows and being told by Windows people that it was absolutely impossible to design an OS that is stable. Then came Linux and the rest is history. After only a few years of enjoying great stability with Linux, MS produced XP and suddenly the impossible happened. Well almost anyway. Now they are insisting it is impossible to implement advanced services securely. Watch that argument fade away as well when the competition succeeds with secure implementation.

This is a great move. It will provide users with a choice (finally) AND Windows and IE will get better than ever as a result of increased competition. Competition is good! But some people posting to this forum don't want you to have a choice and don't want you to have accessed to the kind of product enhancements that competition can provide. So you be the judge of who on this forum has your interests in mind and those who only care about the fortunes of one rich company.
