Are you truly that poorly informed on the subjeor is it general ignorance?
Sorry but you are as far off base as it's possible for one person to be. Let me explain it.

Linux growth of say 25% means their EXISTING base grew 25%, NOT that they captured 25% of the market. When you have a small fraction of the market, any gain looks huge when expressed as a percentage.

Absolutely Linux will continue to grow, but you must understand how the growth curves for any product/service work. Extrapolating future growth 3 or 4 years from now on today's curve is a big mistake. (Do you know what say Ford or GM would give for an extra 1% market gain???)

But the fact is, Microsoft is deployed on more servers everyday than Linux has ever seen in a week. Linux is cleaning the clocks on old UNIX systems and that's really the limit of it's growth so far. But MS is also grabbing UNIX market share, Novel, and other NOS. So far, Linux simply hasn't competed well against Microsoft beyond the shrinking UNIX server market. (Of course there are a limited few exceptions but that's always the case when looking at overall market performance.) It has not made significant advances on the desktop market either. (Again looking at the total market, not self comparison for growth percentages.)

Displace Microsoft? Not for a very, very long time, if ever. In many ways posts like yours do more to harm Linux than anything any detractor ever could. People do read the talkbacks and when they see someone in "the Linux camp" make statements they know are complete wrong/false it raises red flags. Think about it...
