I really don't understand how anyone would not want more than one consumer choice when it comes to the OS? I've owned my business for 25 years and because of proprietary software that I need for my business I am tied to MS. I know enough other business owners that have gone to Linux and it works just fine. The problem is that we don't have enough software engineers to write software that will cross platforms. I guess it is easier to use the easiest method to compile code than to innovate? I have to use proprietary software that many years ago originated as a DOS program. Today it does the same exact function but takes up 5 times more HD space, more memory but it does have those nice fancy colored icons. There have been many times when the program is running slower that I'd like to stick those icons where the sun don't shine. I'd prefer more function than glitz!
