Yes Longhorn's version will like nothing anyone else has done. The little pathetic attempt by Apple is almost identical to the Indexing Service that's been in Windows for a very long time now. From within XP, go to Services and look at the description of this little gem, lifted straight from the service itself:

"Indexes contents and properties of files on local and remote computers; provides rapid access to files through flexible querying language."

So what exactly has Apple "innovated" then? If you are talking about what's going to be in Longhorn, and compare it to the little indexing service Apple will supply in Tiger, you probably can't tell a hole in the ground from your own...

Kinda like how "innovative" Apple was with .Mac vs .Net, right...?

How pathetic. No go play with the other little kids...
