Claria's stuff from what i can tell doesn't pop using a browser but Claria's own programs. I doubt switching browsers would clear this up. I can't comment on WhenU, as I don't care to test it. I am not debating that firefox blocks traditional pop ups however it cannot block pop up generated by another browser/program like claria.
