Not by a long shot
If "the masses" had a strong yearning for Microsoft, they certainly could express it. The feedback is anonymous, and the users are not a bit reticent about giving their candid views of management, organization, prospective relocation or anything else that crosses their mind. Just why do you think we run these pilots? One very important consideration is the effect of the software on productivity, morale and retention.

The clear indication is that people identify with their computers, but they don't much give a hoot about software "brand." As a matter of fact, a brand name computer beats a plain front, both are favored over a mismatched color CD case, a flat screen is very popular, folks even prefer color coordinated keyboard and case, but color of screen background and shape of the icons does not much upset the users; they don't seem to realize their ability to choose somehow oppresses them (I'll admit it eludes me as well). Actually, this makes a lot of sense historically. We have previously foisted (good word in this case) successive Windows and Office versions on them, as Microsoft dictated, and they went along. If we stick with MS, we'll have to foist another version on them eventually, and I'm not sure what we could do to alleviate the "suffering" you allude to when an MS version is sunsetted.

Without some dsicernable sign of "oppression," "suffering" or "yearning to be free," we think we just might be able to make a business decision for the good of the business.
