Initially my reaction was similar. I saw Dashboard and immediately asked why they were trampling Konfabulator. Then a friend reminded me that waaaayyyy back when, when Apple was first showing off OS X to develoeprs, the ability Widgets were something they were showing off.

I still think they should have at least worked with Arlo on the similarities to Konfabulator, as he's the one that really lead the concept into some maturity (wasn't much more than a toy when Apple touted it,) but at least I can see where Apple has some rights to the idea.

Am I happy about the way it happened? No.

Does Arlo Rose deserve some credit for his work on the entire Widget front? Without question.

Did Apple blindly rip this idea off someone else? I can't say they did anymore.
