- Dang Chris...settle down...
-
You sound pretty hostile in your post and no one even said anything yet!
Now I am NOT defending Apple, Microsoft or anyone else. I am just pointing out a fact.
For every idea someone in this world comes up with, a few thousand other people on the planet have also come up with the exact same idea. So plain and simple, we are entering a phase in "computer interfaces" where you will always be copying something else. Like that goofy little toolbar thing Apple has on the bottom of their "new OS" - sorry, but the Amiga interface had something like that a LONG time ago. Sure it looked a little different...not as graphically cutesy, but still, the same concept.
You are working with a 2-dimensional surface. How can you come up with something new and innovative when some of the best technical and human interface design people have been working on improving for so many years now?
The next level of innovation won't happen till someone comes up with a new, easy to use, 3-dimensional interface...but that will require going away from the mouse which works only in 2-dimensions also. Maybe with the invention of the virtual keyboard (www.ibizcorp.com) they can come up with something similar which allows you to "move your pointer" in length, width, and depth. Now thing about this Chris...I just posted all this stuff. So if a company develops it...are they ripping me off? Are they copying my idea? Sure...in a sense...but who says they read this first?
The point is, most everything that can be done has been done...coming up with something TRULY new and innovative will be incredibly difficult. - Posted by: Stellardyne Posted on: 06/28/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
