It seems poor Bill just doesn't understand

Gates is quote as saying:

"(They) see that being their own systems integrator--they
say, 'OK, I've got this, how do I get the Active Directory?
How do I get the software update piece? How do I get the
different applications?' And they see...various things about
the intellectual-property challenge that'll come into that."

Active Directory - We call it by its standards name
(remember before you ripped them off) Kerberos and LDAP.
Our versions interoperate with other standard compliant
versions.

software update - RPM based distributions call one popular
choice yum. Users can configure it to use their choice of
update server and indeed media (for speed, cost, etc). Sorry
Bill let me explain, choice is when you have options,
alternatives that are better suited to users in different
circumstances. As users many of us like choice.

get the different applications - most are included in the
distribution we choose. Bill, you see many of the
programmes you charge additional for are bundled for the
one low price. You don't need to go to the store an shell
out hundreds of dollars for a C/C++ compiler it is already
included.

intellectual-property challenge - indeed it is a challenge for
all of us. Maybe with the IP-theft case experience and
settlements of your company it would be better if you
didn't go around giving advice to others in this area.
