Apple users
---I hope that when Linux rips away the Apple buyers who paid
extra just to escape Microsoft that there's enough to left to keep
a good company going---

I think you'll find that Apple buyers "who paid extra just to
escape Microsoft" are a tiny minority. Most Apple users bought
in because they wanted a superior platform, and they
understand (either explicitly, or intuitively) good design. Linux
will probably never take those users away from Apple,
particularly since Apple now runs a *nix OS, so many of the
advantages of Linux are already available. And, unless the OSS
people can afford the very talented and experienced designers
Apple uses, it's hard to believe they'll replicate much of the
positive things Apple is able to offer.
