C# with .NET framework is hot!
The Java community is being pushed and pulled in many different directions, and that competitive dynamic is undercutting their ability to provide a common front to Microsoft

Sound familiar? The whole trend in the unix influenced community always draws toward fragmentation, no matter how much talk their is about standardizing a paticular platform things get muddled with opposing ideas, implementations, less than desirable devlopment IDE's etc.

On top of that the "free" world of open source is both fostering a community and draining its stalwart backing companies of revenue.
