Here are the Facts
I am a real life CIO and the company is none of your business. The last thing I need is some technology bigots on my back. I read this article to understand this whole Java vs .Net agruement as it goes on in my company as well. Thankfully I have final say over what gets created and not some bigot programmer. Business people control what technology gets created I could care less about Java or .Net at the end of the day. I will say that for some reason the Java projects in my shop always promise the world but go over budget. The java programmers are too expensive and make too many promises. I have not had one single .Net project under perform it gets done on time and on budget and with fewer people. That is just the facts for my shop so much so that the shift has been to do more .Net dev then Java. If Sun Open Sources Java I will limit the amount of Java dev we do as I feel they have been a great steward of Java. IBM and BEA are just jealous IBM makes money by selling a army of consultants and BEA an over prices application server. IBM is all about the dollars and they are worse then Microsoft (They only want to keep the services revenue high as they suck at software)
