Kermit software - only for "peaceful and humane purposes"
One software product I used years ago was the Kermit file transfer protocol. The license agreement included this line: "Once you have obtained Kermit software, please use it only for peaceful and humane purposes." (Kermit News, June 1990). I'm thinking earlier versions of the license stated this even more strongly, to the effect of "This software may only be used for peaceful and humane purposes", but I don't have a copy handy.
