few minor points, but I agree with the conclusion
years before? the germans did have proven development projects underway, in fairly secured facilities. they had the science pretty much as figured out as the manhattan project, and it was actually a bit ahead of the manhattan project...

RESOURCES were the problem. they didn't have the raw radioactive uranium to make a useful size bomb... and they couldn't just get it from an ally of theirs.

with that in mind, it IS up to the individual to choose his path based on what he has come across.
