its worse than you think, huge subsidies go to these greedy "contributors"
The squeaky wheel gets the greas and the public gets greased!

The RIAA managed to shake down the fed for millions of dollars in research grants for stuff like anti-copy chips and even worse, technology to make camcorders unable to film movies played in a theater.

Now, I'm not saying that filming a movie being played in a theater is good, but paying the motion picture industry to squander federal money on piracy prevention while underfunding stuff like "No Child Left Behind" is bad policy.

But, it costs a lot to get elected, the voters are not who the elected officials are "accountable" too anymore! All this corrupting money going to buy advertising and none of it really helps to decide on which candidate is best!
