Er.. Actually...Fred had it right...
Reread the first paragraph - the one in BOLD type at the top of the page. It reads:

"Microsoft plans to add pop-up blocking features to Internet Explorer next year as part of its Service Pack 2 update for Windows XP, a move that would go far toward stamping out the Web advertisements. "

Note the "Service Pack 2 update for Windows XP" part...

Now, that doesn't mean they CAN'T or WON'T make the update available in a more general IE 6 service pack somewhere down the line. Then again, it may have some code that relys on somethign else that's only found in XP.

In the mean time, Fred should chill out. If he did a Google search for "Popup Stopper", he would have found about 91,700 links to pages for pop-up stoppers - and gee.. MANY of them are freeware solutions! Many of these solutions also stop OTHER types of pop-ups from taking over the computer - MS Messenger, AOL, Yahoo, etc..
