It is more like MS is feeling the heat
Mozilla, Netscape, AOL, Opera, Firebird slimbrowser etc. all have popup blocking built in as well as a lot of other features. MS is finally starting to feel the heat from the other guys in this area.

Perhaps MS is starting to find that that the financial benefits derived from allowing popups no longer offset customer dissatisfaction. Word does spread.

Of course, MS is only adding the popup blocking to winxp and not older systems.

How sweet it is to be a monopoly.
