Aparently some do
I for one view IM's as a nusciance just like cell phones, but I have many friends that use clients such as trillian and gaim constantly.

This is an old story, MSN does it, AOL does it and it probably takes the 3rd party companies less time to adapt thier client to the new protocol than it does for the proprietory company to develop it.

To me it is just stupid, and a waste of rescources.
