The Other Thing Missing

Let's not forget one of the reasons that you see Office Professional out there in so many places. Access. It's not an enterprise level database but it's darn easy to work with for small organizations and you can do some good things combining using it and a front end done in either VB or VC++. Give me a good database with tools for when I need to toss something off in a few hours or do a fast query and report and combine it with the ability to turn it into a full app with some programming in Java or C++ and I'll really be looking at it.

Also the president of our company would insist on the spreadsheet having all of the power of Excel.
