We just got done setting up our own cluster. It would have made the Top500 list 1.5 years ago. So close... anyway, when we were designing it, some student asked why we don't use Windows instead of Linux. The room burst into laughter. He persisted, asking "seriously, why not?" A professor then told him that he didn't particularly feel like setting up a 3-month analysis run, only to have it crash a week into the run and have to start over... and over... and over...
