Greed will kill the goose

The Patent and Copyright system in this country has been hijacked to produce perpetual revenue streams to parasites such as Disney, Microsoft, Amazon and the others who subvert the intent of the law and buy access to gov't that the average person can never match. Trivial ideas are sometimes allowed to be patented and then someone who actually does the work is penalized and extorted. MS has been on both sides of this, so I guess they determined it a better use of capital to jump and file trivial patents and let others do the work of actually inventing something useful. This is not a knock solely on MS, Amazon and the one click shopping patent is another example of the idiocy of our current system. Now that US wages are beginning the decline to match thse of China and India, who will be able to pay all these charges to the patent and copyright holders? Who will be able to afford to shop on the web or buy A DRM CD when the avergae wage will settle to the level of 3rd world countries? What incentive will be left to inventors when well heeled monopolies are allowed to patent every idea that comes down the pike without expending any effort actually doing something other than pay the lawyers and politicans off? Greed is killing America and we all will get our just desserts...
