I think that's the way it USED to be.

Whatever happened to the whigs? I can't even remember what they stood for.

You're right in that we need more than just 2 parties to choose from, or even a combonation ticket.

There was a time when the person with the most votes was president and the one with the second most was vice president. That resulted a couple of times when we had a Republican pres and a Democrat vice. (could you imagine Gore as pres with Bush as vice?)

Of course back then the parties were different, and there were more parties.

I still like to judge candidates on their merits. And I can handle anyone "leaning" one way or the other, as long as we can agree that there is a common ground, especially for our core beliefs.
