Span Sucks...

I hope someone can do something about spam. I've
tried doing Rules in Entourage; I must have a hundred
of them. But the spammers just generate fictitious
domains and circumvent my rules. I don't need Viagra,
my girlfriend can attest to that. I don't need penis
enlargement, again, my girlfriend can attest to that, I
don't need meds, I'm only 47, and healthy like bull. I am
sick and tired of filtering my mail every morning when I
open my e-mail. It's a shame for the legitimate
companies who advertise through e-mail, because now
I just delete anything that looks like spam without even
reading the first sentence. I use OS X on a Mac and
haven't found a tool that can pick out the chafe from the
good mail. I recently got an e-mail from some guy trying
to say my Comcast bill wasn't paid and wanted me to
click a URL to correct my payment. It looked very legit. I
new it was bogus though when none of the links on
their very Comcast looking web page didn't work. Just
for kicks, I went into the link to update my supposed
billing information. This person wanted my credit card
number, PIN number, social security number, well you
get the point. I wonder how many people this person
duped. Since our Comcast account is in my girlfriends'
name, I didn't get the e-mail that warned about this little
bit of fraud. Fortunately, I'm an IT guy and picked up on
this. Span needs to be controlled. I don't care if it
interferes with free commerce. I think if the spammers
had to pay a fee for each piece of e-mail they flood the
Internet with, things might return to some sort of sane
level. I don't know the best solution for this, but I hope
someone a lot smarter then me comes up with
something. Span makes me sick. To all you spammers
out there: It will be a frigid day in hell before I purchase
anything through unsolicited e-mail. You make me sick
and I hate you.
