Incremental adoption
Immature technology and vendors creating a market where none exists seems to be a recurring theme. No one wants to be locked into a single vendor solution which is the goal of IBM and MS and others. It takes years to develop standards that all can live with. Locking out competitors because they are not big enough or have billions in capital is counter-productive and puts a lid on innovation. Security is still an afterthought which is the fatal flaw. Eventually, something will emerge that is standards based and works with all platforms and we will hardly noticed that it happened. Until then, it's Tower of Babel time...and most smart business people will not adopt.
