At this point, until the claims are actually PROVED in court, sending out bills would open them up for counter-charges of mail fraud and extortion - "Youse guys owes us some dough. We don' gotta tell you why, but youse do. Trust us."

I suppose SCO was expecting a buyout to shut them up. They didn't realize IBM's lawyers, aka The Nazgul of Armonk happy, take no prisoners. Now they seem to be dragging their heels vs. IBM and Red Hat's case in NC claiming economic damages.

The 'recent income' is probably McDonalds getting a price break for renewing the contract on the point-of-sale terminals so SCO can get a income 'bump' for the quarter. McBride & Co's options only mature after four profitable quarters, so expect them to spin the PR hard and drag their heels in the courts as long as possible to avoid their stock falling back under $2 and preventing their mass emigration to Bermuda once they cash out...
