re: Can you get it straight, ZD Net?
I agree with you mostly, but you must realize if that you're dealing in mostly speculation and opinion. This article is a news article, others are opinion pieces. It's quite easy to tell the difference. While I agree with the opinion you are stating in your post, the fact (as define by a piece of information that can be proven either true or false) of the matter is that you're claim

SCO cannot sell a 'Linux' license. SCO holds no copyrights over anything Linux.

which you state ZDnet should have posted was opinion. The fact of the matter is that SCO is selling Linux licenses. Whether or not this is legal is an entirely different matter, but they're still doing it.

Also, if you're complaining that ZDnet doesn't have their facts straight, you shouldn't use phrases like

If the rumors I've heard are correct.

It just makes your statement sound more like speculation... because it is. ZDnet merely posted what is currently occuring and what the analysts are saying: things that can be proven either to have occured to to have been made up; true or false; facts. Rumors are opinion. This is confusing, I know, as fact also means something that IS true, that that's only when comparing fact with fiction, not fact and opinion.

When is ZD Net finally going to understand SCO cannot sell a 'Linux' license and stop giving stories titles designed to invoke arguments. I'd expect to see this behavior with the National Enquirer. ZD Net is supposed to be a reputable source.

If ZDNet were to make a post stating anything you have stated in your post and claiming it was fact, they would be on a level with the Enquirer. You offered wonderful analysis that I tend to agree with, but sadly you weren't one of the analysts that ZDNet quoted. You have every right to complain that SCO is acting illegally, or that the Duetsche Bank should have said something else, or that you agree with legal analysts recommending people wait until the IBM case is over, but not ZDNet that ZDNet got anything backwards. Everything in the article is occuring or has recently occured and the people quoted actually said what was quoted.

Sorry!
