Our Enterprise found IM very Userful
We use GroupWise as our Corporate e-mail solution. When we rolled out GroupWise 6.5 it included GroupWise IM. We had it deploy IM as part of the new client. I really thought it would be toy to some but I found that was not the case. The few times the IM was down for upgrades or maintenance to the server, the user really complained. Even the VPs. Seems they all use it extensively. They espeically like it while in meetins so they can get information from their staff without disrupting the meeting. We also have a lot of road warriors that use it extensively.

Though we never endorsed public IM I have no problem with the corporate IM since it is encrypted, uses eDirectory via LDAP and is policy based.

Cheers
