RE: Rivals make run at Microsoft Office
OK, dumb question: what's the difference between Symphony and OpenOffice? I've used OpenOffice for a couple of years, and other than some real problems with mail merge, the product seems pretty stable - so how will IBM add value to the product? And what's the business case for this? Since IBM isn't charging anything for Symphony, is it just being done to harm Microsoft?
