Looking to the Future
VBA is arguably the most popular computer language in the world, simply because Office is the most popular software of it's type in the world.

Given, its popularity, I doubt that Microsoft is so foolish as to get rid of VBA without providing a viable alternative, such as a "light" version of Visual Basic,VSTA or some other alternative. VBA and VB are practically the same and the transition for VBA users will not be a significant obstacle. VBA can be exported into VSTA.

Of course very few Office users will pay for Visual Studio or VSTA, but I just cannot imagine MS not providing a way for regular MS Office users to migrate their VBA to some other language within the Office environment.

Besides, how many times has Microsoft announced something and then changed their minds? A few years ago it was hinted that MS Access DAO was going to be terminated, but it is still going strong today.
