"What does Eclipse bring to the table that wasn't already
there?"
Eclipse is itself a power, multi-platform, multi-language,
IDE with many nice features. Oh, and it is free!
For Java developers looking for native GUI performance and
look and feel the availability of the SWT (which is used to
develop Eclipse) is a great bonus. Read my post above.
The use of the SWT does not require Eclipse, nor does it
