Look, sorry but reading how there is a battle under the cover of nicey nice between IBM and Sun regarding who will control Java in the future - this is all about IBM extending it's version of the Java future to developers. IBM is borrowing a page from MS - getting developers to sign onto the tools, and then using them as the change agents in enterprises.
This is not an MS versus Java battle, this is about who is going to control Java. Java and .NET will stay pretty stagnant in terms of numbers - gains here, loss there for the near future.
