While there are ways around copy control, it is illegal to develop or use them in the US due to the Digital Millenium Copyright Act(DMCA). Similar laws have been passed, or are at least being considered in many EU nations. While we should have the right to do as we please with our personal property, such as a CD, the recording industry wants to take that away, and have in many places. Their eventual goal is to make everything pay for play. They would reduce music to nothing but a commodity. As consumers, boycott is our only recourse. Don't buy Contraband by Velvet Revolver. Even better, don't buy any CDs from the major labels. www.dontbuycds.org
