Now that the Anti-MS viewpoint is out there, are you going to make another brilliant observation, like, "THE SKY IS BLUE"???

Yes, Windows suffers from exposer to Trojan software and requires third party tools to detect the malicious software. You can clean the majority of spyware if you are familiar with the registry, but it is a serious pain in the a$$. By default IE will prompt when unsigned drivers are being downloaded, but will also allow them to be installed, often so quickly that your entire Internet experience is hosed until your either disconnect or reboot.

Users can however protect themselves by increasing the security and privacy setting in IE, and if they run a professional version of Windows, harden their policy settings to prevent file and registry access. This is still not acceptable though, and MS needs to address this issue in XP SP2.
