How to beat a competitor

Can I suggest this:

If you are competing with a successful company and they decide to replace their IT staff with offshore IT staff in an attempt to increase profit. Don't follow, instead hire the people they sack.

You'll be hiring 90% of the technical expertise and knowledge that company formerly had. Those people, with that experience, can come up with a *better* way to do it.
