Now let's see..
A piece of software costs $100 or so.. and a blank CDR costs $0.50. Which would be more devastating to lose?

Of course I back up my software. Only people who havn't lost a piece of software due to overuse, and then (futilly) attempted to get a replacement from the manufacturer can be as ignorant as you.

Also works well with CD collections.. (thankfully it's never happened to me..) but how many times have I heard of someone who lost hundreds of dollars of (LEGAL, and I don't believe it's appropriate for you to presume I would use this software for illegal purposes) CDs when their car was broken into? (A friend of mine works for an auto insurance company.. and good luck trying to get any money out of them!)
