It's a waste of time
Talk to any college student and it's not just movies they are pirating but software, music and books. They know what they are doing is illegal and don't care.

But the really odd thing here is that pirating has been going on for over a decade by college students. Did the MPAA, RIAA, and BSA just clue in to this in the past few years?

During my 3 stint in post secondary education in 1998 and 1999 pirating was the norm. No one paid for software, music or movies as a student unless you considered attending theatres and concerts. The justification most often given was I have no money now and when I'm finished college I'll buy then. Even I too fell into that group when it came to software. If anything that software pirating did Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, and Novell some benifit as I learned thier software a now I buy the products. Pirating is hassle when it's just so much easier to buy the stuff. Even downloading a whole album for MP3 is easier to just go and buy it, though in 1999 it was easier to download your MP3 vs ripping them yourself from the CD.

Now the whole point I'm getting at here is that Students in college/university will just laugh any form of education off unless it affects thier marks like plagerism does.
