There was a case
In a town near me that a grandfather who paid for the internet access for his grandson got sued and hand-wrote a note to the judge that he didn't even own a computer.

The resentment in that town was enormous, by law abiding people who don't even know wht p2p is. Many still won't allow their children to buy music almost a year later.

Was the grandparent responsible? Legally, he was because it was his name on the bill. Was the grandson wrong? Yep, It is illegal to share the content he shared. But none of this matters in the long run. The current and next generation of music purchasers view the labels and RIAA as thugs who prey and grandparents and 12 year olds, which WILL NOT help the music industry in the long run.

The MPAA (for now) is taking a better long-term approach to a legitimate problem by bending over backwards to educate before even one lawsuit is filed. At leats when they (or the DOJ) do file, they can at least say that they tried for years to convince people not to engage in illegal activity and are suing as a last resort.
