Most Retail DVDs Prices
I've seen the prices for DVDs range between $11 and $22 for the basic DVD. Special edition seem to run from $22-$40. Then there are the TV series DVDs where they run from $35-$125 for whole season.

The interesting thing is older movies (3+ years) are usually sold for under $20 and many at as low as $11.

Funny thing here. I know a lot of people who download movies and they still go to the theatre and they buy the DVD when it comes out. They do the downloading for other reasons such as getting clips, creating backgrounds, and such. As well if the movie is really good they can watch it on the puter till the DVD is released.
