Agree - to some degree
I agree on DVD's, $15.00 for a DVD doesn't seem toooo unreasonable, I have a problem with paying $12.50 a ticket (yes that is correct - for the closest theatre to my house) to see a movie. Movie tickets at that theatre have gone from $3.75 a ticket up to their now $12.50 a ticket in the time span of about 10 years. During that same time, VHS tapes in stores decreased from about $20.00 down to $9.99, and DVD's dropped from almost $25.00 down to $15.00 for most of them. The technology behind producing and distributing DVDs has changed dramatically, leading to lower costs for the manufacturer, and ultimately to the consumer. The same regarding production and distributing costs for the movies themselves, technology has greatly lowered those costs. What has increased, is the amount they pay the cast for most of these films. But even in keeping with inflation rates, should ticket prices have really risen to 400% their cost in just a 10 year span? I mean heck, actor and actress salaries haven't risen by 400%?

Sorry for the long post, in short, DVD's and VHS tapes are pretty resonable, but ticket prices to the theatre are ridiculous. I'm not saying that can justify everyone pirating these movies, but I understand where they are coming from.
