Bit don't be a Chicken Little
It does not suit you. The end ain't near it just might cost more. I do agree that the SCOs etal will probably drive up the cost of business from these buffalo bagel lawsuits though. The cost to defend against the lawsuits eventually is passed on to the consumer.

There are two changes in the system that I would like to see. First and foremost I would like to see a loser pays law. The loser of the lawsuit pays ALL court costs etc. That way these "plaintifs" and lawyers won't be so quick to sue with the threat of having to pay when the plaintif in a case loses.

Second I would like to see a major overhaul of patent law. Early on in the the tech world there was a share and share alike train of thought. Everyone that invented a process immediately shared the discovery for all to use.

STOP!!! AT this point let me say that I DO NOT BELIEVE everything should be open source GPL.

My point is that somewhere early on in the process people began to patent these ideas and while I cannot prove who or what it just seems to me that there are several patented processes that are NOT attributed to earlier works or people.
