Violence is a blunt instrument
The loss of a middle class in a society is tinder for a fire.
If that tinder is set ablaze, the fire will burn the good as well as the evil.

Revolutions are fraught with peril, and violence should only be used as a last resort.
Look at the major revolutions of the past (Russia, France), very bloody and very indiscriminate.

Be careful with the use of the ?R? word, for violence is a blunt instrument.

The US has, in modern times, teetered on the brink of armed revolt in the early 30?s and the late 60?s.

Is it possible we are coming close to that abyss again?

A variable in the political calculus used when governments rule, is what is the most they can get away with without causing an armed uprising.

Just remember that the 4th branch of the American government is an armed and informed electorate.

Unfortunately, those in power need to be reminded of this now and again.
