Used to do it myself

Back home, I had a network of people that I could barter computer work on the side for car repairs, groceries and even babysitting. Unfortunately, to keep the job, I had to move to a large metro area where you do well to know even one of your neighbors (I actually know most of the ones on my end of the street).

My friend back home (who owns the business I did some consulting for) still keeps up the contacts and still gets car work or dinner for making a house call. If I get lucky and get to move back home, I will probably quit the job and go to work with him full-time. At least if I fail, I'd know who to blame.
