Orwellian Language
This administration is addicted to Orwellian language. If the news says "All eyes on consumer privacy" watch out! In case you forget, this is the administration that brought you TIA (Total Information Awareness) and GIA (Government Information Awareness) - efforts based firmly on the premise that consumer privacy is an oxymoron and the government has the duty to know all about everyone. And, of course, it goes without saying thet the government will feel free to use what they know in any way that suits their purpose of the moment - including leaks by "unnamed sources" to friendly members of the media. Anyone who tells you John Ashcroft has your best interets at heart is an idiot - or thinks you are.
