Microsoft's Wealth
A large part of MS's income comes from sources other than the sales of software. So much of MS income is derived from the investment of the $50B that many investors look at MS as a mutual fund instead of a software manufacturer. Software sales are becoming a less important component of MS's total income. It's likely that the investment income is what's keeping MS stock price from tanking instead of just holding steading as it has for some time now.
That's why bad news that would normally cause the stock to drop, such as the news about govenments and companies switching to non-MS software, has little effect on MS stock price.
