Choice is good.
While I personally prefer Debian. I think those distros (Xandros, Lindows, Lycoris) are a good idea for many, who are just casual users and less tech interested/inclined (and want an alternative to windows).

They are fairly inexpensive, come with various support & services. Have more windows like admin tools and some proprietary apps. Since they are all based on Debian, and have their own sources & Apt-get type service, it makes it simple for the newbie causal user. And if they become more interested or out grow it they can change their sources, and upgrade the entire thing to Debian. I sort of doubt many in this target market would have need, but still and option. (Or just download several other distros)

So while they are not for everybody, they can be a good fit for some? (maybe many?) One of the biggest myths is that Linux is too difficult for many. I think these create a bridge for some and choice is good.
