Apples and Oranges
Redhat released a patch. Microsoft chose to incorporate the change in a service pack. The patch from Redhat will be tested by the user base that install the patch. Microsoft is using internal and external testing before releasing to the general public. Microsoft will have released this as part of their OS long before Redhat releases this feature in their Enterprise products. Rushing out an untested patch is hardly a feature of Linux I would brag about!
