This is a wise move.
I think this is quite a good idea. It shows that Linux developers aren't just sitting around and doing nothing.

If you use Linux, you might be thinking, "Why is this necessary? Linux isn't threatened by viruses." True, for now. But that doesn't mean that the situation can't change. Microsoft was completely unready for the wave of virus attacks against Windows, and thus, they still can't stop the flow. But if the Linux developers can stay ahead of the malicious hackers, then we may never have to deal with this problem.
