Only the very newest chips from amd and intel have NX in them so it is unlikely that anyone will be running win 9x or such on with a cpu that supports this. There is little need to rush it out for older OS's.

Unless you are running an athlon 64 or a brand new P4, you won't get the benifit of this until you buy a new computer, regardless of what OS you are running now.

I think it is a good move, but it will have little effect on steming the tide of viruses for a few years at least.
