Doesn't make it any more correct
..If you know someone is trying to kill you, and you know that you can't stop them, wouldn't you want to make sure they died too? I sure would. I may not be there to enjoy it, but at least they wouldn't kill again...

I don't know of anybody trying to kill me so it's difficult to.
I think I'd just keep trying to stop them with a view to staying alive.
I might try to be better than them in whatever why I could and take advantage of those areas.

Unless you think this will drive Sun's stock up or increase revenue it's a corporate non starter.

..taking down Microsoft might be the only way they can survive, so it's well worth the risk...

Scotts been trying that for years and it hasn't worked out too well so far.
You know that MS and Sun have signed a peace agreement?
One reason was that IBM & HP are more of a threat to Sun's hardware market than anything MS were doing.
Give these guys Java?
Not without some quid pro quo.
